It wasn't that it was his first opening, certainly it was not. But tonight's opening was Miles' biggest show to date and the reviews in all the papers had been glowing so, as Miles' gallerist had told him excitedly that morning, everyone who was anyone would be there. So Miles had gotten up bright and early that morning, too excited to sleep much. As soon as Netanya had been given her breakfast, Miles left her with Tony and was off, running a million errands to get things ready for the evening, reminding Tony as he walked out the door that they needed to look nice and be on time for the event that evening. The gallery was in perfect order by the time Miles made it there, two hours before the event. The staff tried to get him to sit down and relax but he flitted around the gallery, checking to make sure the lighting was perfect and there were no problems with the screens playing the videos of his performances. Everything had to be perfect, though he had already been assured by everyone from the gallery owner to the catering staff that everything looked fine and he had nothing to worry about. By the time he was finally satisfied, it was practically opening time and people were just starting to show up. There were all the usual sort of crowd, mostly people Miles was familiar with, either having met them before or knowing them by reputation. Charlie stopped by with Oli and Mikey, just long enough to hug him and tell him how good everything looked before shoving flowers into his hand, promising that they'd have a night out later to properly celebrate. The gallery owner escorted him around the gallery, introducing him to a veritable who's who of the art world. Miles was loving this, though as half past six rolled around, he couldn't deny a little bit of annoyance that Tony and Netanya were running a half hour late at least. Yossi, the gallery owner, excused himself from Miles' side, apologizing profusely and taking the flowers Charlie had brought, promising to keep them somewhere safe for Miles to get at the end of the evening. For the first minute all night, Miles was on his own. He strolled across the gallery, weaving through the dense crowd and picking up a glass of red wine from one of the caterers before stopping in front of one of the videos, half watching it and half just taking a moment to himself. Suddenly, someone was grabbing his shoulder and stepping in far too close and he heard a familiar voice in his ear. "Miles, it's been so long." Miles went from relaxed and easy going to tense instantly, shoulders tightening as he spun around to see Michael, looking the same as ever. "Michael..." He started but the artist spoke over him. "Here on your own tonight? I didn't see Tony anywhere, I assume that..." He made a face and it was clear what he thought of Tony. "That young thug isn't bothering you anymore these days?" tonight was miles's big night, and tony felt bad that they were running late but he just couldn't get netanya's hair how she wanted it. "honey i'm sorry papi's trying!" he spoke softly, looking down at her as she stood on her stool in front of him as he worked on her hair. he sighed, getting an idea. he wrapped it in a semi little bun and pinned her little bow in it. "how's that?" after seeing her hair, she grinned hopping off and running to put on her pretty little black dress shoes. he grinned, watching her run off before fixing his tie in the mirror. he looked at his watch, they were a half hour late and he sighed hard. "peanut let's go!" he called walking downstairs to already see netanya hopping up and down in place with an eager smile. "papi papi papi come on!" she giggled, laughing a bit harder as tony scooped her up and walking out of the house. after putting her in her booster seat, tony got in the driver's seat and made his way to the gallery.

once they were there, tony looked around holding netanya. "you see daddy anywh-" he was cut off by her cute little giggle. "there's daddy! papi put me down!" she kissed his cheek a few times before he finally put her down once they were a little closer to miles. "daddy! tanya called out running over to him, hopping up for him to hold her as tony followed her. he put on his fake sarcastic smile. "michael! you ol' so and so," he put his hand out, the one with his ring on it, making sure michael saw it before he put it out for a handshake. "how are you, ya' good?" he grinned, looking over at miles with a wink before leaning in and kissing him quickly.

Luckily years after their last run in, Miles was far less flighty. "No, um, Tony-" But before he could properly answer the question, he heard a shouted 'daddy!' that could only be his little girl. Without even a thought, he turned and knelt as Netanya came running over, catching her in his arms and picking her up, kissing her forehead. "Hey princess! Daddy's so glad you're here!" Bouncing her lightly, he hugged her and then beamed as Tony came over. Michael, meanwhile, looked exceedingly uncomfortable as he reached out to shake Tony's hand, eyes looking down and obviously catching sight of the ring. "Tony, hello, I was just chatting with your charming-" Miles didn't let him finish. "Husband. Tony and I got married, oh...." He looked towards Tony, leaning into the kiss for a moment. "What was it baby? Two and a half years ago, isn't it?" He kissed Netanya's head again and then looked over at Michael with a bright smile. "And this is our daughter, isn't she beautiful." Michael looked even more awkward and looked down, shifting his weight from side to side before looking over Miles' shoulder. "Oh, um, I think... I think someone is waving me over, excuse me, I'll just..." He slipped away without another word, leaving Miles grinning huge as he looked over at Tony. "You're late but I love you anyway. tony grinned shaking the dirt bag's hand, looking over at miles as he chimed in informing michael on their marriage. he nodded, letting his hand wrap around miles's waist. two and a half years, it was crazy and honestly some times tony feared that it was all a dream and he'd wake up and lose it all. he shook the thoughts from his head, looking at netanya especially when she waved. "netanya cohen flores, nice to meet cha!" she grinned out, noticing that she wasn't getting a reply back from michael as he walked away. "how rude," she shrugged wrapping her arms around miles's neck looking over at tony who was laughing a bit. "that dude is pathetic, lucky this little one's here to be adorable or i don't think i could have held old tony back," he winked a little, referring to the night of course where tony took a whole to outlook on defending his partner's honor and beat the shit out of michael. not to mention, the night tony offered miles to move in with him. he planted another kiss on miles's lips before turning to netanya and kissing her nose. "Yes, he's very rude baby." Miles agreed, shaking his head a bit at how much she reminded him of Tony sometimes. The mention of old Tony though... Those memories, while faded and less sensitive, still never left entirely and Miles shook his head at the thought. "Thank god she's here then. I don't think the gallery owner would love it if old Tony decided to come out tonight." He leaned into the kiss, completely content with his husband and daughter with him. But Netanya's question pulled Miles attention away and he had to think a moment about how to explain. "Well princess..." He started, glancing after Michael who was now standing across the room, occasionally shooting glances back in their direction. "Back when I hadn't met your papi yet, I used to be a model. And I worked with a lot of artists and one of them was Michael, the rude man." He gave Tony a look, giggling a bit at calling Michael the rude man. "And Papi came to pick me up from Michael's one day and Michael was very.... he was very rude to Papi and so I quit and I never worked for him again. But I think he missed me." tony listened to miles explain the story, shaking his head when miles asked if it were the whole story. him and mikey had this thing where they loved making themselves sound super cool to their kids, so why not take this opportunity to do just that? netanya cocked her head to the side, looking at miles then over at tony. "then what is it papi?" she smiled, leaning her head down on miles's shoulder with her eyes locked on tony. "well, what happened was papi went to go pick up daddy. and not only was michael being rude to papi, but he was being very rude to daddy. so guess what papi did," he smirked, watching her eyes light up with imagination. she had her thinking face on, but shrugged with anticipation. tony leaned in with a smirk, "papi beat him up," netanya's eyes widened, jaw dropping but turning into a smile. tony watched miles's reaction, and he bit his lip to hide his laughter. he loved when miles tried to be like charlie, trying to use sex as a weapon or make it seem like 'oh you wait until we get home you're in trouble'. because it was like, when miles thought he was being aggressive and what not tony just thought it was adorable. he licked his lips a little looking around the room, eyes tracing on michael again and he felt like he was going to hurl. tony also couldn't help but chuckle aloud at miles's subject change after puckering his lips at his husband's narrowed eyes. netanya didn't understand why papi was laughing, but shook it off and nodded. "there's a looooot of people here daddy, you must be super special. papi says you are!" she giggled looking over at tony who gave her a 'don't tell daddy things papi says' look, even though it was cute. tony smirked, shaking his head a netanya before turning his attention back to miles. "do i follow you, do i just stand here? what do i do, i was trying to meet a nice man tonight but you're stealing my wing man," he teased, winking at miles.

Miles couldn't help but grin and then actually laugh when she said that Tony had said Miles was super special. "Papi said that, did he?" He raised an eyebrow at Tony and then grinned. Well he wasn't much good at quiet sex but hopefully Netanya would be worn out enough by all the excitement that she'd sleep soundly and that'd give them a chance got some adult time. But of course Tony had to ruin the moment and Miles shook his head. "You come with me, I show you off. And you try not to make me crazy by picking up someone else." He shook his head at Netanya. "Papi is being mean to Daddy." That said, he shook his head and turned, carrying Netanya as he made his way through the crowd, looking for Yossi. He finally stopped near the desk of the gallery, where a tall, older man stood, chitchatting with a couple of art people. When he saw Miles, he turned on the bright smile. "Miles!" He had a thick Italian accent and air kissed Miles cheek. "Everyone is loving your work. Eva wants to buy the big piece in the back." The woman to his right nodded a bit and Miles beamed. "And who is this? Bella, she's like a little star." He said as he looked down at Netanya. "This is my daughter Netanya and," Miles glanced at Tony with an affectionate smile. "My husband, Tony. Tony, Tanya, this is the gallery owner, Yossi." Yossi smiled massively at the introductions and reached out to shake Tony's hand, leaning in for an air kiss on both cheeks, which made Miles have to stifle a laugh. tony raised his brows up and down a bit as miles brought up thanking him for his kind words. it wasn't that miles was like super duper loud anymore, unless the house was empty then indeed he was, but he definitely improved on his volume since they've had netanya. her bedroom was down the hall, so she really couldn't hear much plus tony's new thing was putting on r&b slow jams. that way he wouldn't be tempted to slam him into the headboard, plus the slow music helped netanaya stay asleep so everyone seemed to win on that note. he grinned, tongue poking out through his teeth as he followed miles making faces at netanya who was having herself a giggle fit.

when they reached the guy miles seemed to be looking for, tony grinned leaning out to shake his head. he didn't return the air kisses for the simple fact that he had no idea what the fuck was going on, but he did however nod with a grin. "oh of course i'm proud, he deserves it though," his eyes traced over miles, giving him a loving yet proud smile before his attention turned to netanya who was serving everyone some british bravo realness. "yossi, dah'ling," she stuck her own hand out, leaning forward to give and receive some air kisses. "netanya cohen flores, truly a pleasure," she grinned, giggling talking in her british accent which tony took note that it wasn't that bad. however he covered his mouth to silence the laughter.

And that was the best of news. But dealing with the social part of this gallery opening took up most of his attention quickly and as soon as they were with Yossi, Miles was entirely focused on his gallery owner. Tony agreeing that he was proud made Miles beam and he opened his mouth to speak but before he could say a word, there went Netanya. Miles stared down at his daughter, rapidly turning pink in his cheeks, having a moment of terror that this was going to be an awkward moment. But Yossi and the buyers he was standing with took it all in stride, laughing a bit. Yossi leaned in to air kiss Netanya's cheeks, then shook the tiny hand she offered. "Miles, bello, you didn't tell me you had such a charming daughter, where have you been hiding her." Miles laughed a little nervously, glancing around the room and catching sight of Michael eyeing them. At least things here were going ok. "I'll have to bring her around with me more often." He looked down at Netanya with a fond grin. "Could come keep me company when I'm working here next time, huh?" Yossi laughed, then looked between Miles and Tony. "Let me take her for a bit, I'd love to introduce her to Leona, that's our main curator, she'll just die." Miles glanced between Tony and Netanya, shrugging a bit. "If you want to, you can go and meet Leona with Yossi." Yossi nodded, then pointed to not far off where there was a short woman gesturing excitedly in front of a painting. tony's laughter started the second netanya started serving them bravo housewife realness, how could you not? well then he glanced over at miles, and saw the tint on his cheeks. he understood, if tony were ever talking to some one big about his music career and she pulled some shit like that, yeah he'd probably- well actually then again no. that was a lie, tony had the biggest soft spot when it came to his daughter. he knew miles did too, but literally unless netanya was throwing things; screaming; and biting she was tony's little angel who could do no wrong. his eyes gazed over to yossi and the buyers, grinning seeing yossi going along with it. netanya's eyes lit up hearing that she could come to work with daddy, but then she looked over at tony before looking back at miles. "b-but daddy don't you work on papi day?" tony pouted hearing her concern while she completely pulled away at his heart. "we'll talk about it, peanut," he grinned, kissing her temple before turning his attention back to yossi.

he shrugged along with miles, knowing that yossi most likely wasn't going to try anything or steal netanya. but just in case, which he still doubted himself, tony looked him up and down without anyone really noticing. yeah, oh yeah, there was no competition. then again tony was sure he could kill shaq if he ever hurt netanya. not that he was going in all tough looking for a fight, especially since all of this was super important to miles. and yossi was an alright dude, no need for the hostility. not that tony could help it, mama always told him to think that way because in their neighborhood if you thought some one was a pervert it's because they were a pervert. if you thought some one was smoking crack it was because they were smoking crack. that was just how it was, as sad as it sounds. anyway, tony looked back at netanya figured he'd let her decide. once netanya heard it was up to her, she looked at yossi and nodded quickly as she extended her arms out for yossi to take her from miles. once they had walked away, tony smirked looking at his husband. "usin' the kid to sell shit, tsk tsk tsk," he teased, kissing his temple.

And as soon as she was looking at him with those sweet eyes, fretting that the days Miles was in the gallery were the days, she spent with Tony.... Reluctantly, he handed her off to Yossi finally and then watched closely as Yossi carried her off, chatting happily with the little girl as he walked. Miles looked back at Tony and then half-smiled, leaning into Tony when his husband kissed his temple. "She's too cute for her own good." Wrapping an arm around Tony's waist, Miles leaned his head on Tony's shoulder and smiled for a moment. "So glad you two got here when you did. I had no idea Michael was going to be here, absolutely none and then all of a sudden, he's just behind me, hand on my should and-" Miles shuddered, though mostly playacting at it. "Gross. He's still disgusting as ever." Looking over, he spotted his former employer, still mingling a bit. "Probably waiting till the crowd thins out a bit to try and chat again." This said, Miles turned back to look at Tony, smiling faintly. "No old Tony though. Even if it makes Tanya think you're cool for beating someone up." But really, though Michael made Miles vaguely uneasy, knowing that he was most likely watching nearly constantly, Miles still couldn't be happier. Reaching out to tug lightly on Tony's jacket, he leaned up for a quick kiss, deciding this was a much better topic of conversation anyway. "God, you're so handsome tonight though. I always forget how good you look when you get all fancy, happens so rarely. Does all kinds of things to me, you don't even know." Grinning, Miles cocked his head to one side, thinking a moment.
